For Nancy, nutrition is not only her passion but a lifestyle. Just like the beautiful embroidery of her blouse, she holds pride in the beauty of her culture and heritage. Inspired by her mentor from “La Escuelita” who helped her during tough times, Nancy has a strong desire to serve underrepresented communities and actively work to eliminate health inequalities through her own research in nutrition and the prevention of alcohol abuse. Having already overcome numerous obstacles in life, we know Nancy has what it takes to become a successful Latino health disparities researcher
Nancy received her Bachelors in Anthropology from the University of California Riverside and a Masters in Public Health from California State University Fullerton.
"I knew I was going to apply, I was just worried about the process," said Nancy.
